Friday Five 7.21.17

Holy moly, it's nearing the end of July and that is terrifying. Can this year stop flying by or atleast slow down once fall is here so I can enjoy the weather? Thanks. Today is the first day of the Faster Horses Festival I'm at with Soap & Glory and I am so excited. Surprisingly enough, this is my first time in Michigan. My elementary school used to take the 5th graders on a trip to Michigan, my brothers class was the last class to go (he's 2 years older than me) and when he and my dad returned from the trip, they brought me back and Oscar Mayer whistle. As a 3rd grader, I thought that was the coolest thing in the world. Unfortunately, I never got to see the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile... *sigh* When I found out I was going to Michigan, that's where my mind went. SO. RANDOM. Anyway, I am so excited to be here! There will be a blog post soon about what I wore to a country concert, or in my case, festival!

1. My Complete Living Room

It's finally finished and I absolutely adore it! If you guys didn't know, I partnered with Laurel & Wolf on a project to design my living room space in my apartment because when I moved in, the apartment was very modern and I had NO IDEA where to even begin to make it look like my space. If you haven't already, check out the video I posted talking about the entire experience of designing the space and giving you a tour! Can't wait to be able to share my entire apartment with you guys!

2. These Vintage Chairs

I hosted a Girls Weekend for my best friends from home to come visit me in Nashville and one of the things we did while they were here was we hit up a bunch of antique malls! How old does that make me sound? 2 years ago we would've been day drinking but now we turn up for antiques. I've been to my fair share of antique malls here but my favorite one I've been to is the Downtown Antique Mall on 8th South. It was there where I fell in love... with a set of kitchen chairs that I don't have any use for. These chairs remind me of the chairs my parents had in our first house growing up but so much sassier! I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea but they are definitely mine. I even sent them to my boyfriend and he didn't hate them, so let's just say, if I had space, they would've came home with me. I even debated getting a storage unit for them but like... Why would I do that? Ugh... I am still dreaming about them.

3. Love Someone

If you guys have been following me for a while, you might know that my 2 favorite country singers in the world are Jon Pardi and Brett Eldredge (both of which I get to see this weekend... EEEK!) Last October, Caitlin and I got the chance to see Keith Urban and Brett Eldredge was one of his openers (might I add that my queen Maren Morris was one too) but I missed most of Brett's performance... except for my favorite song by him "Wanna Be That Song." I cried when I saw this song live. I have no shame. And I bought a t-shirt. Anyway, he released a single from his new upcoming album and it's amazing. Listen to "Love Someone" here! Best believe I'll probably cry seeing him again this weekend. Such a beautiful voice.

4. A4 Filter

I've been using C8 for so long that I randomly decided to switch things up on Instagram with my VSCO editing (yes, you could say I am a badass.) I am now an A4 gal myself, granted this could change this weekend since I'm traveling. I feel like traveling changes your feed. I think I might end up dabbling in the E series, to be determined though. But anyway, I like how "vintage" this filter feels. So incase you were curious which filter I have been using recently, there's your answer!

5. Gingham

Okay but like everyone and their mother likes gingham this year, I get it, nothing groundbreaking here. I didn't even realize how much I enjoyed it until I looked in my closet and realized I have been making so many gingham purchases without even really noticing honestly. Not a bad problem to have of course, especially when headed to a country festival like I am this weekend! I packed two outfits that are entirely gingham... Oops. One of them is this set I wore by Blue Life this past weekend when I hosted the Girls Weekend at my apartment. So summery and light! I can't wait to wear it again this weekend.

So that's it! This week's Friday Five. I hope you guys enjoyed it! If you haven't already checked out my Apartment Living Room tour, it's playable down below at your convenience :) What are your "Friday Fives"? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. My best friends got married in April and their first dance was to 'Wanna Be That Song' and I was sobbing haha.

Have so much fun at Faster Horses, it's a great country festival!

  2. Have fun at the festival! I'm excited to see your posts on it :)

  3. Hey girl, is there any way you could share which complex the townhouse you toured first is a part of? I'm wanting to eventually move to Nashville and I loved that one with the wood countertops, so I wanted to check it out. I know safety is an issue, but I know you picked a different apartment so I wondered if you wouldn't mind sharing that information! I'm still super excited that you started this blog, I LOVE reading it! Thanks a bunch :)
